Alresford Station House | Community Group LTD - website
Near the station is an area which contains the Station House and Community Garden.
Alresford Station House (ASH), ASH’s aims is to save and renovate Alresford Station House for the benefit of the whole community by providing a safe and inviting environment that will enable them to engage in activities, learning and employment; and through this, tackle issues such as isolation, mental health, learning difficulties, environmental issues and unemployment.
The project to purchase the station house and turn it into a viable community business was put on hold during the Covid-19 pandemic, but Alresford Station House Community Group Ltd (ASH) has now reopened negotiations with Greater Anglia.
The Community Benefit Society was set up at the end of 2019 and we have secured an initial grant from Bright Ideas to make the project investment ready. This includes support from a business advisor but we are now looking for anyone who would like to be involved in this project. We need supporters and people with skills such as events organisers, ideas and visionaries, fundraising ideas and abilities to make them happen, secretarial, social media, blogging, accounting, publicity, legal, as well as general help.
When negotiations to take ownership of the property have concluded we will also be looking to launch share options to make this a truly community wonder project. So if you feel you can offer any help or would like to be involved in any way contact us at info@alresfordstationhouse.org.uk
The Community Garden is managed by volunteers, the very productive garden space that is there today was transformed from an area of waste land. Alresford is a fortunate village that has such a dedicated group of volunteers from all walks of life.
